Recently I read that Bethesda does cross platform mods for fallout 4 via their creation club, microtransactions aside it proved to me that cross platform modding is possible. By default, Terraria servers are meant for either PC or mobile editions with no crossplay built-in.
Other systems do not have this capability, so Terraria is for the majority, not a Cross-Platform capable title. For consoles the future looks bleaker, both Sony and MS forbids breaking out of the walled garden for most games (there are some exceptions). The only systems with Cross-Platform capabilities are the mobile versions of the game, iOS and Android, which can play with each other. Cross-platform between mobile and pc might be a thing some time in the future when both are at the same version (presumably 1.4). Dont worry, Terraria will be waiting for you when you come in from the heat We are closing in on the last stages of 1.4. No it's not 1.4 I'm patient for long updates (I've been waiting 3 years for geometry desk 2.2) the thing I wish for is the ability for cross platform mods Terraria does have a Crossplay option available but is largely not a Cross-Platform game. As of State of the Game January 2021, it has been confirmed that Crossplay is an intended feature, however, it first requires that all platforms reach 1.4.1 first, PC is the only platform in 1.4. However their is one thing that is really making me wishing Terraria Cross-Platform supports Xbox and PC.

Hey I'm new here in this forum I've been playing terraria for a year (I migrated from ps4 to switch) and I really enjoy it (l beaten the eye of cthulu yesterday on my crimson playthrough ) and for a console port I think this game is really amazing
